Its a beaut Clark!

Our annual Christmas tree hunt Friday after Thanksgiving. A very cold day spent up in the Pike National forest with close friends, fresh snow, leftover Turkey sandwiches, and refreshing hot chocolate.

Weston picked out a an awesome tree ( of course Bret got a new camera that he doesn't know how to use yet, so be patient )

'til next year!

Halloween

My favorite holiday and Tyler's 16th surprise birthday party. I am so thankful for only 3 teenagers in my house-- 20 of them is enough to drive one insane.

The ninja mutant turtles' long lost cousins....

The darling hostess with the mostess....

We had guitar hero blaring all night, and a disappointing show of trick-o-treaters -- next year's decorations will be even better!

Boy Scott Labor Day Fishing Trip -- 2007

Our 2nd annual 'Boy Scott" backpacking / fishing trip --- to Rainbow Lake northeast of Steamboat Springs.

Notes:
  • 13.6 miles round trip
  • 1300' elevation gain
  • 8 good-sized rainbow ( I think ) trout harvested
  • No casualties.
  • Our 1st experience backpacking past sundown and in torrential rain.
  • Witnessed a pair of bald eagles fishing--spectacular!
Lessons Learned:
  • Powdered eggs are not suitable for human consumption.
  • The beetles are winning -- better get out and enjoy the trees while they are still there!

Mt. Elbert

This summer as part of our summer camp, we summited Mt. Elbert at 14,433' on June 28, 2007 -- Colorado's highest point -- the 2nd highest in the continental United States (2nd behind Mt. Whitney at 14,505 )

Enjoy some photos and clips of the us summiting and quickly descending once the lightning started.

Ouch

This is what happens after a high-speed open-ice collision in hockey --- a Texas-sized bruise
