Our 2nd annual 'Boy Scott" backpacking / fishing trip --- to Rainbow Lake northeast of Steamboat Springs.
Notes:
- 13.6 miles round trip
- 1300' elevation gain
- 8 good-sized rainbow ( I think ) trout harvested
- No casualties.
- Our 1st experience backpacking past sundown and in torrential rain.
- Witnessed a pair of bald eagles fishing--spectacular!
- Powdered eggs are not suitable for human consumption.
- The beetles are winning -- better get out and enjoy the trees while they are still there!
